Hi everyone!

Welcome to this newsletter - to those of you who are long time readers as well as to those of you who have newly-arrived. Thank you for joining me.

Before you begin reading what is here for you this month, take a moment to gently close your eyes. Say to yourself the word, ‘giving’, and feel the frequency of this word falling into your body like it’s being dropped into a very deep well. Notice its impact, particularly in your heart.

The Gift of Time

As givers, we know very well what it's like to give the precious gift of time to others in a myriad of ways. This gift of time is not to be taken for granted; it is to be highly valued. Firstly, what we offer through our time is uniquely ours to give, and the impact can ripple outward far and wide. Secondly, time, in itself, is a wonderful gift as it’s the highest currency of abundance. Think about it - in these busy times, the sense of freedom and well-being that time fosters surpasses any amount of money we might have in our bank accounts.

Take a moment to reflect on how you give your time to others - to your loved ones, at work, in your community. This is your spiritual practice. This is how you embody love.

Using the “Inner Confidence Workbook: A Guide to Claiming Your Life as Your Own”  as a foundation for reflection, I have the honor of observing the value that clients receive in truly seeing, appreciating, and embodying what is the very best of themselves. It is when you deeply know yourself in this way that you can consciously foster and express the strengths reflective of your true nature - in service to others. In this embodiment of love, you experience aliveness, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. In gifting others, you gift yourself.

To deepen this full expression of your true nature, think of a particular situation in which there is a lack of flow in giving - in which you actually feel, to some degree, depleted by the giving.  Ask yourself: am I giving in a way that feels right to me? Am I in integrity around what I give or am I simply following a rule that is a habit or a result of old conditioning? In other words, am I giving from a place of 'should' or from a place of peace and lightness?

Joseph Campbell, the famous mythologist and writer whose words, "Follow your bliss", speaks to this. From the place of being connected to the spaciousness of the present moment, you become very clear about what you truly want to give. Checking in with that deeper part of yourself and following where that feeling of spaciousness and peace leads you, moment by moment, informs your giving in a way that feels right, free, and ‘blissful’.

There is another very important aspect of the gift of time to consider: now take a moment to reflect on how you give the gift of time to yourself. This, too, is a spiritual practice. The embodiment of love takes place when we slow down so that we experience the Big Love that is always present, that is our true nature. Taking the time for self-care, fun, simply enjoying another’s company - this gift ups the quality of your life.  Ask yourself: do I include myself in the giving? If not, how can I make this happen today?

There are no rules in the gift of time. What is important is your relationship to the giving. When it reflects your true nature, there is a flow that makes life wonderfully light. In essence, there is no ‘me’ or ‘other’.  We are one.

In the spirit of being complete and not finished,

Jeannie
