Knowing yourself and what's important to you is a key component in building inner confidence. How?
Knowing yourself helps you make choices like, for instance, what movie to watch. Who are the people that you want in your life, particularly your inner circle? What brings you happiness? What is fun for you? What are your flaws? What are your strengths? What is important for you to learn about how you relate to others? What do you want to learn from the bounty of experiences that make up your life? Have you examined your beliefs so that you consciously choose them instead of unconsciously adopting the beliefs of your parents or the media or the neighbourhood in which you live?
Taking the time to know yourself supports you in defining yourself instead of the world defining you. This supports you in expressing yourself as you. You then take your place in the driver's seat of your life.
